Health 1 is a required introductory course that includes health topics such as exercise, stress,
nutrition, human sexuality, alcohol, and drugs. These issues are looked at from
the four aspects of health, physical, mental, social and emotional.
The material is
covered by means of lecture, notes, group activities and projects, role-plays, and written papers. Grading is based on class attendance, student participation, and scores on homework, quizzes and unit exams.
Advanced Health

Advanced Health is a course designed to follow the introductory health class required for juniors. The course covers in-depth health topics that especially pertain to teens and their current needs. Some of the topics include stress, nutrition, weight control, exercise, alcohol, tobacco,
drugs, environmental health, and health careers. The students are responsible
for creating projects that promote health in these topic areas.
