Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District’s
school meal program is aimed at safeguarding children’s health and well-being.
We do not want to prevent any child from eating a meal and we will diligently work with the child and his/her family
to be able to continue to provide a nutritious meal for the child.
To meet the goal of providing a nutritious
meal for every child and to continue to make the school food service program viable, we will follow the procedures listed
below:
Elementary School:
- If a child’s meal account has a negative balance of $10.00, a letter or email will be sent home. The child will be allowed to continue to eat school meals.
- If the account reaches a negative balance of $20.00, a phone call or face-to- face visit with the parent will be arranged
to set up a payment plan. It will be considered at this time if the child will
be allowed to continue to eat or if alternate meals should be given. School breakfast
and afternoon milk will not be available to the child.
- If the account reaches a negative balance of $30.00, it will be considered at this time that an alternate meal will
be given.
Secondary School:
- If a child’s meal account has a negative balance of $10.00, a letter or email will be sent home. The child will be allowed to continue to eat school meals.
