FOR THE ED-CO ECHOES ON FRIDAY MORNING AT 8:00 A.M. IN MR. PUTZ'S
ROOM.

There will be a short FBLA meeting for all members Friday morning (tomorrow) at 8:10 in the Business Lab. Members unable to attend, see Mrs. Ehlers sometime Friday.

Junior High Students -Just a reminder- Magazine sales last until Sept. 14.  2nd drawing for magzines will be on Thursday, Sept. 9. 

Anyone that would still like to join (or re-join) FBLA, bring the $20 membership fees to Mrs. Ehlers by Wednesday.

Students selling propicks - Top salesman will get $100.00. Mrs. Lueken told me yesterday that you can sell through this weekend if you want.  I have tickets if you need more.

Order forms for football t-shirts are available at the office.  Orders are due on Friday, September 3.

ACT Test Addition
Seniors planning on taking the ACT should be doing so on the September or October dates. This ensures ACT scores to be available when you start to apply to the colleges of your choice. See Mrs. Lindauer if you have questions.

Any high school student wishing to write for the Ed-Co Echoes this
year please sign up some time this week at Mr. Putz's room. The Echoes
needs writers as well as a photographer and a cartoonist.

Lost and Found- Found - Cable to connect an electronic device to a computer via USB port.

Anyone still interested in purchasing a copy of the recently unveiled 2010 yearbook, the cost remains $40. Bring payment in to Mrs. Ehlers while supplies last!!

The Show Must Go On!!!!

Any high school students interested in trying out for the play, please sign up on the sheet outside the high school office by Monday, September 6th!!! There will be an informative meeting next week to discuss tryouts, so watch & listen for announcements.

Also, every play needs a strong support crew!!

Any high school students interested in being a part of the set crew, lights and sound crew, and/or publicity crew, please sign up on the sheet outside the high school office by Wednesday, September 8th.

I am very excited to get going on my first play at Ed-Co and hope the students and staff will be extra supportive of those students participating as they dedicate their time to a worthwhile experience in the fine arts.

Oct. 7 - Indian Hills Community College - Senior Day - 10:00-1:00
Sept. 25 - Clarke University - All day workshop for juniors and seniors interested in science, technology and mathematics careers. Students will experience authentic, hands-on activities led by Clarke students and faculty in biology, chemistry, computer science and math. You may participate in the workshop even if you do not plan to attend Clarke.

Seniors should be starting to fill out admissions to college.

Juniors or seniors wanting to find out more information about any of the following colleges or universities need to sign-up in Mrs. Lindauer's office. Each of these institutions will be sending reps on the dates listed.

Taking the Road Less Traveled: A Career Conference for Girls”

The conferences’ goal is to expose girls, sixth through twelfth grades, to career paths within science, technology, engineering and math.  More than 2,500 individuals participate in this program each year.  In the morning participants hear from professional women; in the afternoon they participate in hands-on activities or tours. Please note that the cost per participant (students and adults) is $8, and conferences often fill before the deadline. Check out these dates:

October 14 (High School = Grades 9-12)

October 21 (Middle School = Grades 6-9)

October 28 (Middle School = Grades 6-9)

Seniors who intend to major in BUSINESS and consider attending the University of Northern Iowa may apply and participate in the UNI Business Freshman Scholarship Day on Monday, November 15. Seniors will compete for scholarships ranging from one-year $1,000 scholarships up to four-year renewable $6,500 scholarships. Applications are due no later than Friday, October 15th.
